The mission of the Miss Juneteenth Chicago Scholarship Pageant is to empower the next generation of leaders through personal development, leadership training, and scholarship opportunities. Our five pillars are Scholarship, Community Service, Cultural Awareness, Leadership, and Purpose.
As a scholarship pageant, we expect participants in this program to prioritize academic excellence. The winner of the competition will be rewarded with a scholarship to support her educational goals.
During her year of service, Miss Juneteenth will attend events across the Chicagoland area and promote an initiative that she deems important in her community.
Miss Juneteenth is cognizant, observant, and conscious of matters concerning her community. She actively seeks ways to bring awareness to issues facing her community and peers.
Every young lady in our program is born with a purpose. Our goal is to provide a safe and
educational environment that encourages participants to pursue their purpose with confidence.
It is important that Miss Juneteenth serves as a leader in her community and the classroom. As an organization, we will have leadership workshops for contestants throughout the year.

Meet the Director
Hello Queen!
I am Jessica Owens and I am excited to present the Miss Juneteenth Chicago Pageant. I am the reigning Ms. Black Illinois USA 2024 and I have been in the pageant world for 20 years. I have competed in various pageant systems and I have won four prestigious pageant titles. Additionally, I have served as a judge and a director.
I am an author, speaker, and the founder of Crown Chasers Pageantry and Etiquette Academy where I help build the confidence of young women through pageantry and etiquette training.
